Bio

Keith McDonald is one of Ireland’s leading male vocalists. Based in Ireland he also tours the UK, USA and the Middle East.

Together with his band he has appeared on popular Irish Television chat shows “The Late Late Show” and “Miriam”.

Keith’s current release sees him play listed on National Radio Stations Radio 1 and Lyric FM. Irish veteran broadcaster Gay Byrne from Lyric FM radio is among his many admirers and recently commented on his unique vocal ability.

Having grown up in a musical family (his father Frankie toured internationally with the legendary Joe Dolan for four decades and his sister Loraine sings with one of Ireland’s leading bands “The Conquerors”), it was no surprise that Keith would be bitten by the music bug and forge a career of his own from an early age.

Keith is constantly in search of new sounds and styles, continuously innovating, recording “Clever Covers“, as he calls it and like all artists is always in search of a good melody with meaningful lyrics.

He is also keenly aware of carrying on the legacy which he has inherited having made his contribution to music annals with his very his own TV Series; “The Showband Show” on Irish Television Channel TG4 where along with his brother, sister, and his band brought back all ‘the greats’ from the sixties including Brendan Bowyer, Eileen Reid and Sean Dunphy. Keith was also a pal of the Irish Entertainer the late Joe Dolan and counts him as one of his influences.

Apart from performing in Ireland and the UK, he’s also a popular choice amongst the Irish Diaspora throughout the world and regularly tours America, Europe, Holland, Sweden and South Africa. More recently he was invited to play to the Irish defense forces in the Lebanon and Israel. Keith has also just been confirmed to headline St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Oman (UAE) in March 2011.

To fully get a sense of Keith’s signature vocal ability and stage presence you really have to see him and his band. You might even happen to catch him complete with orchestra as he’s proved very popular with the RTE TV & Radio concert orchestra singing with them at the National Concert Hall on no less than 5 occasions, including a 30 song tribute to Barry Manilow, arranged by Andy O Callaghan.

Keith’s new show I JUST HAVN'T MET YOU YET is currently previewing at the ever popular Café en Seine, Dawson St, Dublin every Thursday night.
